Thaipusam 2007: Backlit beads
At Thaipusam 2007, the strings of beads around this man were catching the sunlight, especially when viewed against the sun. They also caught my eye. I saw an interesting mess. One the one hand, the curved lines formed by the beads were all over the place and literally quite messy. On the other hand, I thought this scene had the potential for a nice, somewhat abstract photograph. I took about six shots, all from the back, against the sun, each as a backlit photograph. I tried taking from the front as well. But somehow, it was less interesting. The colors seemed flat. My photo buddy Joe saw this image when he came to my house yesterday (5 April 2007) and he liked it too, especially the blue blur on the right which, he said, was "the best part of the image". He suggested that I added some blur on the left as well, but I don't think it's necessary. I like this as it is.
